Try it, scroll down, scroll down some more. Roll that scroll wheel like a madman, grab that bar over there -> and pull it down to the bottom of the trough (yes I just learned that's what it's called) and keep dragging it down until you've scrolled down to the bottom of this page.
Is it just me or is it impossible to get to the bottom of the page?
It's just you. I don't have a trough. And when I size my window to give me one, it reaches the bottom and stops.
The bar goes away if you zoom in.
Who said anything about "zooming"?
I'd assume we are talking about the menu line on the left?
You would assume incorrectly, thus making an ass out of yourself. Reread the first post, note the part with a link so you can see what we're talking about. (Hint: He even drew an arrow pointing in the direction he was referring to)

lrn2readingcomprehension
I am often guilty of this as well though.
Nos, you piss me off. One second we talk like best friends, then you go and make an ass out of yourself by calling me an ass.
I'm reading the damn wiki article. I thought he meant the right border on the menu not being able to get it down all the way. Fuck the scroll bar, scroll to the bottom like a normal sane person can. Stop smoking weed.

I am not the one who "assumed" what he was referring to incorrectly. Also, I never claim to be anyone's friend, but if you can't take me for the way I am then you quite obviously aren't my friend. Learn to take criticism, constructive or not, and thicken your skin a bit. Shit you act like a woman some times.

I surely hope you're not referring to me when you stated "Stop smoking weed." because I have never nor will I ever do drugs. I don't require them to have a good time and se no point in using them. Perhaps it is you who needs to stop?

sexism alert!
an inability to accept critism is not a sex based thing, it is generally a lack of emotional maturity & confidence.
(not directed at you btw alan)

Handbags at dawn. Crikey.
Nos will be Nos.
Also:
Men will often call each other names and insult each other but not mean it.
Women will flatter and compliment each other, but stab each other in the back.
oh boy oh boy
more sexism :D
You know it's true rose, a generalization maybe, but there is at least a kernel of truth in that. Or quite a few, I must say. Almost every woman I have been in a relationship with, I have seen get all smiley and nice with at least one other woman when she is around, then roll her eyes and tell me how much she hates her guts the second she is out of earshot.
Maybe it's just me then, but I honestly cba to socialise with people I don't like being around. I'll exchange pleasantries, but certainly will not enter into a conversation.

A true gem among women, madame!

Draoi - Fucking Epic. Love some of the photo's you throw up.
Although it might have been a bit sexist, generalization is here and like stereotypes, they're here for a reason. ;)

Boy howdy this thread delivered in ways I never anticipated!
I can't reproduce this. DNM, what browser are you using? Can you also post a screenshot of what this ends up looking like please?
I have noticed some different behavior recently that might be related. A common use case for me is to open a thread and then immediately press the end button on my keyboard to take me to the bottom. Where this used to actually put me at the bottom, this now puts me maybe 50px from the bottom sometimes. I am still able to scroll down after this and I think it's only if I do it right away when the page loads, but maybe this is related.
Also, I ended up only skimming many of the posts in this bug thread, so apologies if I missed other information that was posted about the bug. (go to misc or something please if you're not discussing the bug)

Chrome, pretty sure it's the latest. I think it might be because my normal screen isn't quite big enough to display the sidebar (over there <---) properly:
start scrolling
still going
going for gold!
I'm at work now and when I put the same page on my larger secondary monitor there's no scrollbar at all.
page on small monitor, the other monitor being plugged in doesn't effect this btw, but;
page on large monitor, no problemo!
Probably why I'm not catching this. My monitor is a 24 inch (widescreen)
That's really strange, I have no idea why you can keep scrolling like this. It's supposed to stop just beyond the end of the main content, as appears for me:

I haven't heard of this before, so I'm not sure what's going on. For starters, let's try disabling any addons/extensions. Try entering Chrome's safe-mode (incognito) and see if it still happens.
Also, making my window really small doesn't seem to have any effect on this.
I do believe it's the AquaRegia statistics scripts, in Incognito with all scripts disabled it doesn't happen, reenable statistics script and allow in incognito and it starts happening again.
this doesn't happen to me in chrome (with a shrunken window since i have a 23" monitor) with the Statistics script.
Also, it only happens when I have the window maximised (on my smaller screen)
I left a message on IRC for Emanuel to take a look at this.
I have 1 explaination and 0 solutions so far...
With a certain size of the window, the sidebar is really close to the bottom of the window when you scroll all the way down: link
My statistics script adds another button to the sidebar, which "pushes" it out of sight, and will make it possible to scroll down for a few more pixels, and when you scroll down it'll get pushed again etc. link
Sorry for the inconvenience :P
Hm, let's see if I understand this correctly.
As part of the sidebar's initialization, it inspects its own height to determine how tall a browser window needs to be in order for it to scroll. If your extension added the link to the sidebar before this initialization happened, would this be fixed?
If that's not possible, I could change it to recompute its height on the fly instead of storing it.
That should work, yes. Userscripts usually run after the javascript on the page.
Okay, I changed it. Let me know if that fixed it please.
Fixed, the sidebar no longer floats down my slightly too small screen though, I'm not worried about that though.
Yeah, that sounds right. It's now correctly recognizing that your screen isn't tall enough, thus avoiding the "scroll to infinity" bug.
Nice find DNM, helping Emanuel fix his scripts.
