There's an old ratio whore bot I wanted to fight that's level 26 but for some reason now that the fight list has been sorted (maybe bots that haven't played in years don't appear anymore?) I can't fight it/find it at all. It's been offline for 8 years or so. Just wondering if this is a bug with the new sorting method or working as intended.

Yeah I had the same thing recently and mentioned it to Ender. It's a known limitation until he finds time to add proper pagination.

Yeah, probably some unavoidable collateral. I can't think of a reasonable way to avoid that with the current implementation.

On the other thread I was going to suggest having some type of parameters that take priority over bot age when choosing which bots to display, like >100 fights or something along those lines. Perhaps multiple pages for the extremely saturated levels could become a thing eventually as well.

Yeah, I acknowledge that this (probably - could argue both ways I suppose) isn't ideal, but it is technically working as intended. The announcement thread from a couple days ago (http://bots4.net/forum/10/7955) has some more detail on how the filtering works and what the long-term plan is:

Fight list loading speed: The number of bots shown on the fight list page is now capped to improve loading times. For a given level, the 500 most recently-active bots are shown, as well as any clanned bot. Long-term, I'd like to eventually bring back the full list, but with proper filtering and searching (and perhaps pagination) so that the list size is always manageable.

Yeah, perhaps some other elements for factoring the list until a better option is found, could be used.

But at some point, someone is going to be out.

So probably best to hope Ender doesn't take TOO much time finding a good solution. :) No pressure Ender
