I guess the reason unique weapons didn't exist (for long?) in bots2 was that people didn't like the idea of having weapons with 800 durability.

Well they wouldn't necessarily have to have high durability. Maybe just stat bonuses. Not even big ones. I really think the more diverse you make it the more it will appeal to the masses. Keeping in mind not to overpower people. I think it would be a nice addition to a game thats is mostly Stats and Equipment. You know you feel good when you get that special armor you've been wanting and waiting for.

Oh Im an idiot they have less durability. Well I guess that is the price you pay for unique equipment.

Hm, how about this...

For some of the higher level weapons, there'd be a 10% chance for them to show up as uniques in the showroom. A unique weapon has (req_str+req_dex)/40 randomized bonus stats (like in Diablo II).

Let's take Midnight Hour as an example, to equip Midnight Hour you need 260 str and 180 dex, (260+180)/40 = 11. So it'd get 11 randomized stat points.

With this setup we wouldn't have hundreds of different weapons, we'd have millions.

I like Emanuel's idea, saw this in Borderlands and it worked perfectly.

Whether or not we get millions more or just hundreds more. Any extra unique equipment would add to the content of the game and I think want to make more people want to play and pay for stars.

I thought I replied to this, but apparently I didn't.

I like the idea of randomized weaponry. Although I think it shouldn't just be for high level players, if I didn't read it wrong. But for perhaps every 25 levels a list of random weapons of there own. so for at level 25 you would start to see random unique weapons. But when you get to level 50, you don't see the 25 ones anymore, but the level 50...

I like uniques, whether they're armour or weapons :)
I like randomized stats, it would make them truly unique :)

The best possible combinations should be -extremely- rare though. And heck, you should be able to sell/buy them. It would stimulate the community.

It would really suck though if you got a great stat bonus in a weapon like 11str,0dex,0con,0int. Then you get 3-4k cs before it breaks.

Maybe the stat bonus should be separate, like weapon attachments or something. And they have a lot more durability than the weapons, maybe even infinite durability. Then the stat bonus could depend on your lvl, maybe something like lvl/10. This way you could never stop looking for a weapon attachment, since there's always a better attachment out there somewhere.

I have a couple of suggestions.

1-Have a weapon attachment list , like the armour/shield list in the showroom. It would contain thousands of weapon attachments. This like str+1,dex-1. Even armour attachments. Things like str+3,dex+2,exp+5%,kudos-6%.

2-I don't like the 'random' thing. Games can't be random in this part. Jans said, all it takes is some camping and some training and you have the best build at said level. If i want to take the time to do this and get the best build i can, i should be able to do that. Not search through 100 different mega maul weapons trying to find the best one. The attachments are fine, they are the same every time.

I came after the short-lived period of unique weapons in bots2, but from what I heard, they were removed because they were overpowered.

I'm fine with adding unique weapons and shields to bots4, but I would want to make sure they aren't too powerful. This balancing act is tricky and I'd have to spend some careful time on it to do it right, so this is something that would have to wait until after release to be added.

Would making these weapons and shields and armors showroom shoppable only better? Not allowing them to be ordered and also giving a level 50 unique rareness of doom mauls or something like that...so you have to put the effort in to get them
