I think it would be useful to have an option to fight a bot on their profile. When I get attacked I usually look at them to see their win/losses and clan and everything. And if I decide to fight them I have to click fight and find them and then attack. Its kind of a hassle to retaliate, even more if they're not my level. So, I think their should be a link on the profile to fight a bot if they're within your level range.

There are some technical reasons why this isn't a straight-forward matter.

bots2 once allowed you to challenge other bots from their profile, but this became a problem with the advent of things like tabbed browsers where players now kept multiple windows going at once for the same playing session. The real/fake links for training/fighting work by associating the real link with a number. This number is saved by the game and when you click a link, it checks to make sure they match. A new number needs to be generated every time you reload the train/fight index, which is why you'll get the "learn to aim" message on your train/fight if you load an index in another window.

So...

If the profile page had a fight link, looking at someone's profile (a relatively common event) while training or fighting would have the same effect as reloading the train/fight index (a relatively uncommon event).

I can think of a couple hacks, but I'm not sure I like them. If anyone else has ideas, I'm all ears.

Well, that sucks to hear. Thanks for the feedback, though, Ender.

how about if you click the fight link in the profile, it will direct you to the fight list of that specific player's level rather than fight directly. this will be the same as finding that player in the fight list but in shortcut mode (no need to click the level range).

ie.

my profile's fight link will go to:
http://bots4.net/fight/level/__ where the __ is my current level.

not sure though. just some random thoughts. and it might be useless. lol

Hmm, that actually sounds pretty reasonable. Instead of "fight this bot", it would be something like "locate this bot" and then it could take you to the correct fight page with it highlighted or something.

What if we could have a highlight feature? when your bot has been attacked the next time you go to the fight list and you see the bot that has attacked you, that bot would be highlighted. This would make it alot easier to find your rivals. and maybe could turn this feature off/on in settings or workshop?
