I was wondering what the true purpose of being a game mod in bots4 is?
My impression of the game mods is mostly oriented towards Sera as I'm unsure of the existence of any other game mods. He has defined himself as lazy (according to his profile) and at one point enjoyed the clan competition scene, but as of now appears to be mostly inactive. He could be very active in Eternal's clan forum, but does not seem to be actively engaged with the rest of the community atm.
Tbh, I'm not even sure if Sera is a game mod as I can put that I am a game mod in my profile as could any other player.
As to my suggestion portion of this thread, it would be nice to have a list of responsibilities/authorities of game mods listed somewhere. So newer players can come to understand who they are/what they do. This could possibly be listed in Ender's profile or on the documentation page.

They all have bots in Ender's clan.......

Ed has kept stuff like this secret.

then how does nosterfatu no ??? ??

All of the bots in http://bots4.net/clans/profile/734/Pets-of-Ender are not main accounts:
Zefs: [last seen 50 days ago] [3 minutes, 33 seconds per day]
Notjans: [last seen 109 days ago] [26 seconds per day]
The-Scourge: [last seen 109 days ago] [22 seconds per day]
None of it states who is actually a game mod and none of the bots are active.

If they had administrative duties aside from cleaning up the forum some form of identification would be necessary, but I don't believe they do. The forum isn't huge, any spamming becomes immediately evident, so it's not like they need to rely on people reporting spam to do their job.
|
Yeah if the game mods only moderated the forum, the identification could be optional, but I'm under the impression that it is a bit more than moderating the forum.
The list of authorities/responsibilities of game mods being posted somewhere official would be a great help to understanding what they do and how they contribute to the community. An introduction to the game mods (maybe an introduction to Ender as well) could be useful for newer members of the bots4 community. Possibly an introduction or the occasional comment posted from their smurf accounts in Ender's clan. Maybe a thread stickied in the introductions forum.
I'm not sure if Ender is paying any of the game mods any compensation for the work they perform nor do I feel like they receive any thanks from the community for their work.

They used to have a title under their name, but one or some (not sure) requested that it be removed, for the reason that they felt they could do their job better without the badge.
|
The mods only responsibilities are to moderate the forum.
Yes, we did have a title under our names at one point, but we asked wiggin to remove this. Our objective is to mod very lightly, be as inconspicuous as possible & give the illusion of a self moderated forum, the titles precluded that :P
& btw just because a mod hasn't logged on doesn't mean they are not checking the forum ;)

On that note, there aren't any "Game Mods". Only Forum Mods.

hah, that is under the assumption you know everything that they can do :)

The moderators are:
They mostly just clean up the occasional spam/doublepost on the forums. You don't hear much about them not because of secrecy, but because it's pretty boring work and they mostly do their jobs without notice.
