9 different forums, what the hell.

- Questions and Hints; that's basically the same thing; people discussing their bots.
- Suggestions and Bugs; again, same thing. It's a bug! It's not, it's a feature! It shouldn't be!
- Clans; i've always thought this was a pointless forum. Clan's have their profile page to show what they're about. The clan-forum is at its best comparable to your emails spambox. And at its worst a variation of bitchin 'n whinin.
- Introductions; ok
- Complaints; meh
- Miscellaneous; ok
- Marketplace; ok

Can we come up with a better set up? :)
Perhaps something like;

- Help & strategy
- Introductions
- Game development
- Miscellaneous
- Marketplace

Whilst I agree Jans.

I do think that 'Game Development' should still be spilt into suggestions & bugs if only for wiggin's benefit when he's skimming the forum.

Hmm, what do other people think? I kind of like it the way it is. I would feel lost without the bots2 setup.

The only section I don´t like are the Complaints one. Other then that it´s ok.

I suppose questions and hints could be merged, but not suggestions and bugs.

I think the current forums are quite adequate. You'll probably see why once the user database is like 100 times bigger than what it is now.

nah, in bots2 some forums were practically inactive. Miscellaneous was the most active, which says enough i think.

Keep things simple. Any menu / list with more than 5 items is ill designed, and is puzzling to new users.

- Questions
- Suggestions
- Miscellaneous
- Marketplace

Thats all you really need. The rest can be addressed with stickies and/or tags.

I can go even shorter:

- Tickets (and let the people decide whether its a question, suggestion or bug)
- General chat
- Marketplace

That way, all the support-related topics are nicely grouped together. General chat is for chitchat, with a sticky for 'introduce yourself', and marketplace pretty much speaks for itself. I'm not saying this is the only way to go. Just saying the old bots2 setup sucked, and still does ;)

Woah there Jans!

I'm all for tidying up, but you are basically just shoving all the mess into a cupboard. Open that cupboard & you can't find anything because it is chock a block with rubbish, stopping you seeing what you are searching for.

Just making a point there's no need for 9 forums :)

And Ender is good with front end coding: a ticket-forum could easily be filtered on open/closed, bugs/questions/suggestions, etc.

i agree with jans

- Tickets (and let the people decide whether its a question, suggestion or bug)
- General chat
- Marketplace

plus add a search to the forums to avoid redundant threads.

I would be fine with:

Hints & Questions combined,

Suggestions & Game Development

I like the clan side of the forum, it gives clans a public place to grandstand... yes your profile does that, but your profile doesnt talk.

Complaints- (I feel like this section should be placed at the below all the other sections.... its the least important IMO)

Misc could even be combined with complaints and sub divided into: Games / Misc / Complaints or something similiar

and then Marketplace

I support the complaints forum.

The only suggestion I agree with is combining questions and hints. Other than that, I don't see a need to change anything in the forum, its fine the way it is :)

I think it is best the way it is. If you start bunching forums together, their forum count will go through the roof, and it will be even harder to find the threads you want.

Plus, I don't like Suggestions people posting in my Bugs threads. Or Hints people posting in my Questions threads. Get your own thread.
