This is a bit out there, but do we really need this option added.

Maybe people would consider the impact of their posts more if they knew there were no take backs.

I'm curious what others think. I never really liked people having the ability to edit their posts either after saying something that turns out to be unfavorable. What I do think it's useful for though is threads like the damage records thread. Maybe I could have a special feature that only makes certain posts editable.

Just thinking out loud...in text...

I kinda like this idea, I've seen this on another forum where posts never get deleted unless they break the rules, not even if you delete your account.

But you should still be able to edit your post for a certain amount of time, and maybe for record threads the person who created the thread could be granted the ability to always be able to edit the first post in that thread?

Oh right, in addition to allowing edits for certain threads (e.g., damage records), I'd also allow editing/deleting a post if no one has replied after it, maybe also with a time limit.

On another forum i visit, there's a time cap on how long you can edit your post. Immidiately after posting, you can still edit it, but after a certain time, say a day, you can't edit it anymore.

I support the a 12 hour time limit allowed for editing.

I like Ender's last post.
