I think you should receive an email when you get an email.

IF :

  • You have been offline for more than a hour
  • You only receive one email per "thread". So if someone spams you in the same "thread", you'll only receive one email
  • You have a registered email to your bot
  • You could turn this option on/off

I find myself logging on every hour or so just to see if I have any messages. It would also be pretty neat.

I know, but you have to know your link, etc. Or try to find it.

And checking your email to see if you got a bmail requires you to log into your email, and if you do have one then you need to log into bots anyway. I don't see the point lol.

Shoy, I know how to get the link.

I think it would be cool. I know you can bookmark it. I don't keep my phone on me as it is in my toolbox, but I can hear it ring/beep. I like to stay on top of my bmails and conversations.

My email updates every 5 minutes on my phone. I will beep/ring/vibrate.

I think this would be useful for some people, myself included. I understand the desire for this sort of feature because my job and therefore general workflow is very email-centric; my inbox is open 24/7.

The only dicey thing with it is that the game uses Google Apps for Business for sending mail. This good thing about it is that it was very easy to setup and configure and there is no maintenance required from me. The bad thing about it is that I'm limited to sending 2,000 messages per day. Current usage (355 bmails per day on average over the past 90 days) falls well under this limit, but there could be outliers that make us hit the limit.

Given the sending limits and the higher priority of bigger projects right now, this probably won't happen for awhile, but I think I would like to see it happen eventually (and depending on the game's growth, it may just require delegating email sending to the bots4 server).
