When a bot gets a plat showing it on the home page, like the donations box

Maybe limit it to the four bots with the top stats. As I think it would be pretty clogged up with all the 100 ratio :)

Maybe not on the homepage, as it would get very spammy, especially at the end of the month, but maybe a message gets sent to each online player (similar to them gaining a trophy). Games like Hearthstone and WoW have occasional things that alert players to what their friends did (realm firsts, finish arena run on hearthstone)

I like this idea. We could see if it gets spammed with easier plats, but in general I like the idea of some sort of gamewide broadcast about interesting events, plat acquisition being one of them.

Trophies are stored in a bit of a weird way though, which actually prevents this from being easily implemented. Instead of having a record of each time you acquire a trophy, only the number of times you've collected that trophy and the timestamp from the last time you acquired it is stored. Probably not really a problem for plats since you don't really repeat those in quick succession, but yeah.

Incidentally, the trophy database table is well, well beyond the size of any other table. It's stupidly large. Uncollapsing repeated trophies would only make this worse. I'll have to think about this.

Also, I changed the title of this thread from "just a thought" to "Recently-acquired plats on homepage". Not singling you out TheCause, but having more descriptive names makes it easier to identify what a thread is about from the thread list, easier to find threads when searching, etc.

This would be separate from the donation box.

Going with the original suggestion, why not just add it to a different table that only holds the latest 100 to be shown? Then additional stuff could be easily added.

With Fishwicks idea you don't even have to store anything, it could just a message moving over the screen of everyone online or as he suggested, a self-closing(please!) banner, triggered by code that makes the banner on the players own bot.
