As Ender suggested and since this thing was least discussed in original topic. (There was and still is more important things to talk) I would like to suggest to lower entry fee for future tournaments. I think some fee should stay, but should be lowered. As it is now, if your bot arent specifically made just for incoming tournament, most likely you going to have problems to collect kudos for it. Especially if you arent so active/dont have kudos bots. I know kudos bots isnt hard to make, but still i dont think it shouldnt be one of few/only solution if you want to compete in tourney.

tbh I don't get why we pay an entry fee at all. Scrapping the entry fee would make it easier for newer players, particularly those at lower levels, to participate. Kudos there is quite tight unless you have kudos whores, |

The current entree fee is the price of a redis point at the max level of the category (or min level for category 1, which has no max level). I've heard from multiple people that this ended up being a fairly harsh fee for certain level ranges. I chose that pricing structure fairly arbitrarily and am willing to change it. I think some sort of fee is reasonable, so the question is how high should it be? Is 10% of the current fee reasonable at all level ranges? For discussion purposes, since the tournament fees aren't currently visible on the homepage, here's what they currently are:
And here's what they'd be at 10% of that:

If it's going to be that low, there isn't really a point in having one at all. |

Indeed, might as well scrap entree fees |

Or just make it one kudo if that saves you from having to recode more |

Make it a running gag, and make the entry fee equal to the category you are in.
As noted, I also made a minor "suggestion" for splitting Category 1 into 2 cats. After looking at the bots registered for Cat 1, I though this seemed like a fairly good spot to split it for now (until more higher level bots come along and warrant it to be split more). |

I'm still somewhat in favor of having some entry fee. Maybe I'll do 20% of the current fee, but having to put forth some amount of effort to register for the tournament doesn't seem too unreasonable. |

Plenty of bots registered for this first tournament with it's entry fee, why not 50%. Enough so that people do still have to put forth the effort you want, maintain as well as collect enough for the entry fee. Obviously this last tournament did not have a huge barrier to entry as there were lots of participants. |

Or just set 5mln kudos for each and every cat, so where wont be to much bots... Honestly I dont see point of having entry fee at all.
If you have bot, you already made enough effort into the game. If someone really want to make dumpers to improve they chances to win. They will make them and add them no meter how big entry fee is, so entry fee would be useless anyway.
