I imagine some sort of voting system where one or more bots can initiate a clan owner vote to promote someone else to clan owner.

To prevent/limit the possibility of hostile takeovers, there could be set up some limits to who can vote, like:

  • How long a bot has been in the clan
  • Rank
  • Amount of energy scored for the clan total/monthly
  • The current clan owner has to have been absent for more than a month

Alternatively the highest ranked bots could just be allowed to promote them selves to clan owner when the current owner has been absent for a set period of time.

Not a bad idea but i could see this leading to big clan fallouts/arguments maybe.

heres part of that issue. someone could put multi bots in there just to vote them out. Be bit touchy on adding something like that in. Agreeing with pothead there would be fallouts.

I've seen games where you can set different clan governing styles like dictatorship (no overthrow possible) or democracy (overthrow possible). Maybe this would be useful/interesting if the game were bigger, but this feels like a somewhat complicated/hairy feature to setup for something that probably wouldn't be used often.
