just an idea i thought i should share. there doesnt seem to be much reward for getting energy for your clan, so i was thinking that maybe you get additional exp for beating a bot with energy.

I don't support this idea. Energy is a reward itself I think..

Well, the only thing energy does is help rank your clan, so I would have to agree. Or you could be able to trade energy in for kudos, or some rare armour.

the reward for your clan is clear: energy! cant win without it

how does xp reward your clan? it doesnt, it rewards you.

This game is built on clans, so I think energy is reward enough.

but then wheres the motivation to help your clan? there should be at least something small in it for the player, in my opinion

>the reward for your clan

Bots4 isn't as focused on clans as bots2 was, which really lets me down.

I would say it is just as biased towards clans. You can't even get energy unless you are in a clan.

@Voxy

LMAO! I don't think this is going to work. XD

What's in it for the player?

- To look good in a great clan that always wins
- Have a strong bot with lots of win, small amount of losses and great ratio
- To be #1 in energy and wins

Like Badger said, what if you aren't even in a clan?

@Plague; i understand what you're saying now. But meh, if helping out your clan doesnt motivate you, you shouldnt be in one. ('you' in general, not you specifically)

That's exactly what I mean! Bots4 is hardly focused on clans. Why not add some kind of energy-like system for players who like to fight by themselves?

If there was an energy like system for people who like to fight for themselves that would take the focus away from clans even more. Thus removing the need for clans, imo.. I think that energy should stay with clans. If you want you can make your own clan, just have you in it and fight whoever you like..

Remember that energy is just the new name for clanscore. CLANscore :P

I miss the whole old clanscore system. It was great, there was a lot to do. Make lots of whores, get wins on them, make a clanscore bot, get clanscore, win the month. Make ratio whores to level the other whores.. There was always something to do. Now though, you just make a bot and fight other people, much less to do and I'm guessing people will drop off after a couple of months from just being bored with the same thing over and over again.

Skeith your thinking is backwards.

There is effectively nothing to do if you aren't in a clan. This means the focus of the game is entirely on clans.

A lot of people like to level and there will be tournaments that people will want to make bots for and enter, so it's not just focused on clans.

@Voxymaus; there are other things that certainly wont be missed though; one-strike whores that enabled cheaters to gain so much clanscore, that trying to compete in a fair way was impossible.

To eliminate their advantage, diplomacy had to go. Now whores arent private anymore. More like a public service :)

And the jansindex didnt do that much actually. It never changed the outcome of top 5 clans. Ordered by pure clanscore or jansindex, the order remained the same. So it wasnt useful. But what it did do was causing clans to exclude new players for being 'too low leveled'.

As much as I hate myself for admitting this, that very feeling is starting to creep up on me.

Well, there are two ways (that I can think of to eliminate the whore problem)

1. Change the con rule so that you have to have more con, this way not all whores will be one hit. I can still see the problems with this though.

2. Make the game fully un-cheatable, that's a very hard task I know. Half of the problem, as Ender has said to me is actually telling if there is a real person playing or not. I guess if enough people report a player then that player may feel pressured to stop using the cheat or for Ender to do testing, see that he is cheating and then do something about that.

It's a complicated issue but I think if the old clan system was brought back that a lot of people would stick around long term and you'd see people much more into the game.

That's just my point of view

Meh, it's the first month ever. And knowing everything will be reset anyway, people aren't too fussed with building their bots and/or whores yet.

Once things get going, i'm sure people will find ways to make things work for them. And maybe the system does need tweaking, but its too early to tell.
