Hello and welcome to the Suggestions sub-forum! Here's what to expect:

  • Thank you! - First off, thank you for wanting to improve the game. As an online game, this game is ultimately nothing without the continuous interest of its players, so I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and opinions.

  • I read every suggestion - Part of my "rounds" when I log into the game is to read through every post in this sub-forum (and others). That may seem like a bold claim, but this has been true of the past 14+ years of this game existing and I have no plans to stop that routine anytime soon.

  • I may not reply - I'm always thinking about how best to spend my time working on this game. This means prioritizing between many tasks: general technical maintenance of code and servers, responding to bmails/chats/posts, troubleshooting problems that get reported, building out new functionality, and more. Sometimes that means that replying to a suggestion will be lower in my list than what I have time to get to.

  • If I don't reply, it doesn't mean something won't get implemented - Sometimes when I pass through this sub-forum, I'll add notes to my backlog about a particular suggestion and then only reply later once it gets added. It just depends. So don't take it as a negative sign in terms of whether your suggestion will be implemented if I don't reply.

  • If I do reply, it doesn't mean something will get implemented - There are a lot of suggestions that I like (and will post saying so), but with my time also being limited, there are a lot that I don't get to. It's always a balancing act between planned work and new suggestions popping up. The good news though is that I'm in this game for the long-term, so even if your suggestion isn't implemented this year, or even this decade (yes, this has happened), there's always a chance in the future.

  • It's not personal - I generally try to ignore who the author of the suggestion is because I want to focus on the merit of the suggestion itself rather than slipping into ad hominem reasoning. In particular, this means that if I reply to your suggestion with reasons why I don't think it's a good fit for the game, this is definitely NOT a reflection on you, but rather just the suggestion. This is an important distinction because I still really value everyone's contributions, even if I disagree in the end.
