umm, best advice is to join a good clan and get to know people. a lot of people are very knowledgeable due to the fact they played bots2 (old version of this game, got taken down for undisclosed reasons)

Yup, knowing people is extremely beneficial. It's mostly a chill community so it's easy to get along with everyone.

Make sure to plan your builds ahead of time then. You might also want to have alternate bots to gather kudos on and steal from them with your winning bot.

You can also do what Draoi does and have a bunch of crappy lower level bots that he attacks himself with (also known as dumping wins). The wins are much quicker, but it certainly gets boring if you ask me :P

get on IRC, its usually pretty idle, but if you highlight people there's like a 60%-70% chance that you'll get a reply. it can be a great tool to get help and/or advice on the game, along with bmail (the messaging system) and the forum. The channel is #bots4 on quakenet.

There are 2 types of builds. freaked, and non-freaked. now 'freaked' bots are bots with builds (the selection of weapons and armor) that have unique armors. armors that will boost your stats (str, dex, con & int) while you wear them. these armors cost a bit more and take a bit longer to camp. camping is just getting things from the showroom (shops), at low levels (under 100) camping is pretty quick. gets up to an hour or two after 100. A good idea is to make a bot with a fair amount of int (20-30 will do for lower levels) to get the kudos (currency) to buy the armors.

scarabs you really have 2 choices. non-freaked:

for both of these just add CON (health) till level 35, then redis at 40. (buy redis points early, these can be found in the workshop)

Actually that's not freaked Shred :P that's just expensive gear.

you don't use your redis points till 40 so you can get blood swords.

Ya, the freaked scarab blades are lvl 20.

you save the redis points to get rid of the excess con you pile on.
