Jesus christ, i just had another look. So extremely cluttered and ugly looking, it's making me cry..

What Alan suggested could work (showing Achievements when hovering over name), but that too seems a bit clumsy. Achievements aren't really that important to show constantly, imo.

If we do need to show them, how about compressing the info a bit? Like they do with military medals. Dudes like Patraeus don't wear every individual medal on their uniform. They have ribbons for that.

So instead of little trophies and numbers, the amount of someone's achievements could be shown with a simple & subtle bar of colours. Short bar = few achievements. I'll try photoshop something..

I like how the achievements shows in the forum thats nice.

I dont like the online page that much either, I used the same word cluttered as you Jans :P and agree that its not as important to be shown constantly in the online page, or not so prominently. It kinda takes all the focus cause its pictures like the logos.

Because I didnt see your update on it - I like that on the online page + fight page Jans not in the forum page. I think the forums are fine like that.

Yeah for the forums its something like where you wear your entire medals to display to the whole world kind of thing, and the online page is for essential information, therefore use of ribbons over medals.

I don't think it is as bad as several in this thread are claiming. It is just different and you are upset. Give it some time. I remember when logo's where introduced into forums and people were all qq some people have annoying logo's.

I'll admit that the online page and HoF page do look a bit cluttered with the achievements cards. I spent quite a bit of time yesterday tweaking it to make it look better, so that's still a work in progress. And I very much appreciate the constructive feedback.

As for how it looks on the forums, I have to say that I like it.

While the forum certainly doesn't look better, it's at least okay. The HoF and Online pages are however another story. Finding the information you're looking for has suddenly become a lot more difficult. Granted, taking time to get used to the new look would help, but it's still poor design compared to before.

Info I need from the online page is: - bot name - user name - level - clan - energy/wins/losses - their current whereabouts in the game

Achievements are a great addition, but I do not feel they should be the main focus of the game.

The forum looks ok tho, far less intrusive & in your face :)

Get rid of the dotted border around the achievements and use the same colour as the background so that just the trophies and the numbers are displayed. Both for the forums and the online page. This will make it look less cluttered, especially the online page. There's no need for that dotted border.

Agreed, the dotted border makes me feel like i have highlighted it then clicked off of it, if that makes sense :S

I don't like the dotted border on the forums either, I think it'd be neater otherwise.

I think the forums look fine, and I guess the achievements could look a little better, but I am extremely grateful to Ender for how far this game has gotten.

I like seeing the achievements in the forums - everywhere else though I am not liking very much, although I am getting more used to it.

Really like Jans' idea of the ribbons, it looks really clean and I'm sure it wouldn't take long before everyone instantly recognized the shorthand.

I agree with dragonrose about being able to see both username and botnames on the online list. I think if you really want to see someone's achievements you should just click on their name instead of seeing it glancing down the online list.

Removing the dotted border or the achievements from the online list altogether has to be an improvement!

Given a choice I'd say the old online page was better (Name|Bot|Clan) but whatever.

Forums are fine, I at least know who said what, the rest is hardly relevant.

With Jans' ribbon idea there will have to be some way of making sure it doesn't get really long when I've reset my bot a couple of times and have a few hundred bronze achievements.

But apart from that I like it.
