But I've lost over 70k energy in the last 3 hours. Needless to say, I've pretty much lost all motivation to keep scoring.

This system really punishes that active players that spend their time gathering all the energy from the x1.50 guys. You spend 20 hours gathering and lose it all in 10 minutes. It's particularly bad if you don't have a freaked build.

That does suck. But it also makes the competition more of a fight and less of a race, no? Instead of 'trying to overtake', you can 'take it away'.

Question is, is it too easy to take away..

The one thing I worry about is the newcomers. This system is a complete repellent to new players. If I can have a freaked strength build and lose energy, then they don't really stand much of a chance :/

Of course, to be able to take over 1/3 of someone's energy in a few hours is absurd. The system needs fixing this month, but since Ender isn't around much these days that doesn't seem likely. Well, even if there is no change this month there definitely will be next month after millions of energy is dumped towards the end of this month. It will be mindblowing, seriously.

A good start would be to remove the Dark Energy buff.

keep the buff, go back to the old system
