QFT"

Jans' & easy's comment kinda irked me.

Firstly wiggin prioritises what he chooses to implement, not the community.

A valid idea is still an idea. Or are you trying to squash the flurry of ideas because it'll take too long to programme, or you don't care about that aspect of the game, or you simply can not believe that that problem exists.

Secondly "small potatoes" to one person may not be to another, as it depends on your perspective.

I'm pretty sure that most people who post a suggestion do not expect wiggin to implement it immediately, but just want it banked into wiggin's consciousness for implementation when he chooses if he chooses to take the idea up.

Lastly I'm also not liking the current trend to just post "no" in reply to peoples suggestions. If the person has taken time to formulate an idea at least have the courtesy to give a semi decent reply or forward them to previous thread. Something that is plainly obvious to veteran players is not always apparent to new comers to the game.

Shame on you guys for having elitist attitudes and not supporting, nurturing & guiding new players.

*looks around for chocolate*

I agree with the idea. In fact, i suggested the exact same thing a while ago (/4/400).

But i also think online fights are a minor issue. The current thread got ridiculously long though, suggesting it's a huge problem. It could use some perspective, that's all.

On the subject of small potatoes, I had bangers and mash the other day using small potatoes (King Edward) and it was lovely.

Moral - Sometimes even small potatoes can be used to make something big.

It's not a huge problem, people just feel strongly about it. I say it's not huge in the rarity of the being online.

Honestly, you just sound mad because someone onlined you back in the day when you were trying to pass Project-X.

>>Lastly I'm also not liking the current trend to just post "no" in reply to peoples suggestions

Lol, it's an multi-player game and a player suggests turning it into a single player game. I may have been blunt but it's the honest truth. Also it was a single thread so your use of 'trend' is rather ambitious.

>>A valid idea is still an idea.

I challenge your use of the word 'valid'. I disagree with the idea and use counter arguments to prove my point.

>I want a bank.
>I want insurance.
>I want fight limits so I don't get attacked so much.

The reason behind us saying "no" is not because we disagree, but because these things will NOT come into play for bots4.

I think she wants you to elaborate why not. Too many of you are posting in a way thats is a turnoff to new players - and make no mistake we need them badly.

If its simply a no try to restrain urself from posting, yes i know some of you may feel strongly about it or just want a forum post increase, but its hurting the game less if you spam in any other threads than shooting newbs down with 0 explanation.

Remember this forum has no easy search method thus "silly suggestion" will always come up sooner or later - which is also a good aspect. If a search was implementrd we would have perfect builds threads too easily found out.

Exactly.. so stop acting like its your brainchild that isn't how you want it. Because its Enders, and yes he will do with it as he see's fit, taking suggestions hither and tither, and personnally, i trust him, bots 4 is mad and 100 times better than bots 2 already.

The reason I dislike suggestions from new players, is because they are almost always trying to make the game easier. If a game gets easier, it also gets less fun. If the game isn't as fun, it will die as less people will be wanting to play.

There's already a fight limit, and insurance is coming?

I was referring to the thread where that guy got attacked a couple times and was upset about it.

http://bots4.net/forum/2/944

I think this is a great example of how current players discourage others from wanting to post or even play anymore. If you're too lazy to open the link, the OP was just looking for general tips on how to improve his bot and he ended up getting responses from people telling him that they should give the bot to them because it was essentially a lost cause.

Honestly, if you don't have anything constructive to say then don't say anything at all. I find it ironic Sera that you talked in this thread about not posting discouraging things to new players who make silly suggestions, yet you don't mind jumping on the bandwagon when everyone else said the bot should be given away because it was useless. I know you think it might not discourage new players but if someone is posting for the first time for example, they'll be very sensitive about what other people say.

Btw I should say there were a few helpful posts in that thread, but I just didn't like the way it degenerated after that.

Hm, so your good guy 100%?

Guess you should be a saint?

Quite frankly, my posts are 90% in there is informative, and 10% a summary of the suggested suggestions.

And then there are some people who cannot simply be helped cause they don't see beyond their bot as a lost cause which frankly some bots are. If they say they want a fighting bot, but does not accept that it needs work beyond something that they could potentially do its must be accepted that they should restart. Thats what my whole lvl 130 is about.

Beyond that bots is always and will remain always a place where this happens, theres no way of changing that unless you start introducing moderators and:

Maybe the bot was a lost cause, maybe it wasn't. But you don't have to post anything even if you feel it is. It's the same as when a newbie makes a suggestion for a bank or something. You don't have to say 'NO, GTFO' or whatever, just say it's already been suggested, yada yada, or don't post.

Anyway, I think you get my point. I wasn't attacking you so don't feel like you need to get defensive, but I just wanted to get my point across. You know, perhaps THIS post is a lost cause, because trying to establish some sort of order on an online game wouldn't be the most successful endeavor ever.

Ender doesn't want mods, which means at some point I'm gonna post a gigantic fucking thread with pure images.

TOTALLY UNRELATED TO THE TOPIC. I KNOW.

To mod your posts I'm fairly certain he would have to go directly into the database and edit it there.

I would think that wouldn't be fun.
