Just a rant about how absolute tools are destroying my country over rioting for no apparent reason. Started off as a protest because the police shot someone and now people are looting and destroying cities. Its happenining in london, manchester, nottingham, birmingham and other places. Seems as though everyone has gone mad and also the police arent really using any force, some stupid MP said that they will not use water cannons or rubber bullets on people as they wish to solve the problem by getting the criminals to comply with the police! BULLLSHIT! need to start punishing the fuckers!
So angry about it all! Especially as its my birthday in 3 weeks and i'll need to go shopping, and if all this rioting carrys on then they wont be any shops for me to buy from haha!

Yeah, have a riot in one of the most surveillance heavy countries in the world. That's smart :/

When people are dissatisfied (euphemism for poor, unemployed and without future) all it takes is one incident like this to spark outrage. See Paris. See LA.

And this makes you think they ought to install some of those surveillance cameras in police stations..

I live in Wales, so it hasn't hit here yet but it wouldn't surprise me. I fucking hate it all though. I don't believe in most human rights when they collaborate with the law. In my eyes, the military should have been in there days ago. I wouldn't give a fuck if they all burnt alive on daytime TV.

Its ridiculous, it isnt even showing any signs of stopping soon, its starting to happen in local towns aswell, seems to be that many cities and towns are just copying whats been happening in london due to the fact that those people dont seem to physically being stopped. Its a sad state of affairs.

Just proves to me that I am right in moving to New Zealand when I finally finish my degree.

I'm far from patriotic myself. I'm 100% proud to be Welsh, but I never claim to be British. I do not want to be associated even indirectly with other countries, because when something like this happens for example, it hits us too. We share the government, so now OUR taxes, prices, costs, reputation, livelyhood etc.. are all going to be dramatically affected by the events. I hate being known as part of the 'Pitiful united kingdom' ..

& you're making a good choice there. I'm hoping to join the forces, which partly contradicts what I just said. But my aim would be to serve the greater people amongst us, my own friends and family, rather than the ass holes of this country, and I'll keep that in mind.

Damn straight, the only thing you have to worry about down here is Hobbits going all crazy when Legolas turns up downtown.

These 'riots' are not about outrage. Sure the original flashpoint in Tottenham was sparked by an incident involving a local being shot by the police. This sparked several uprisings on that Sunday night.

However NONE of the following disturbances on Monday & Tuesday in London, ion Birmingham, Leeds, Bradford, Manchester, Nottingham, Wolverhampton & Bristol had anything to do with a valid cause. It was all to do with wanton greed and sheer destruction.

In a 'traditional' riot the authorities are targeted to show the rioters disatisfaction at whatever they are rioting against. In these outbreaks shops & businesses were targeted & looted. ffs you even had looters mugging each other.

I am patriotic & I love my country. There is so much that we do do really well and we have an incredibly rich culture. However I am ashamed of how we are now viewed.

So much was wrong with this situation. Kids in their early teens out looting, where's parental control & responsibility? The fact that the police barely did anything Monday night, so much footage of them just standing back & allowing the carnage to happen. The PM not cutting his holiday short as soon as a riot occured didn't help either.

But hey at least Boris is back from his hols & is brandishing a broom ...
