Hmm, I'll compare some features off to top of my head to Bots.
- There will be a combat system "auto" similar to Bots where you can mindlessly click. But there will also be a combat system "manual" where you can step in and make tactical decisions. This would be something used to win a fight you couldn't normally win on auto such as fighting something above your level or maybe a boss fight.
- I've yet to decide if there will be different DnD-type character classes. Basically I want to have them, but I'm not sure if I can pull it off for a browser-based game. I'll have to look into this some more. There will at the very least be melee classes, spell casters, etc though.
Many more item slots than Bots.
The economy will be much more complicated than that of Bots, meaning it will exist. Not sure exactly what method you will use to sell your products (auctions, stores, etc), but you'll definitely be able to trade with other people.
- There will be clans/guilds like in Bots, but I don't think there will be monthly competitions. There will be ways to advance your guild, but it won't necessarily be a primary objective for most people.
- There will be tradeskills with which you can craft items...not sure on the details.
- There will be a map with different zones you can move around to. Not sure how travel will work, but I'm pretty sure it won't be a real-time map, probably just nodes. Each zone will have its own collection of NPCs to interact with in one way or another.
- Quests of some form...maybe, not sure.
- Level cap...leaning towards having one (ironic coming from me I guess), but if there was one, it could definitely be raised as new content is added. If you've ever played EverQuest, I think I'd definitely put in an alternate advancement system, which is basically a way to advance your character at the level cap.
- Maybe factions/reputation similar to EQ/WoW.
- PvP will likely exist, though not in the form it exists here. I'm thinking the main focus is going to be PvE, but there will definitely be the opportunity to fight other people should you choose.
- There will be "events" often to keep people interested. Maybe weekly or bi-weekly. Can't really say much else besides that at this point.
As you can tell, a lot of this is still up in the air. I need to sit down and really think it through to decide exactly what I want. I'm open to feedback./
I'm in the process of transferring old mails, and stumbled upon this :)

Ender will you be re-making Project X when you have the time? :D or maybe Project XXX^^
|
It would be interesting to see what his current 'to-do' or 'want-to-do' list is. Then again, we would all bug him to no end asking when this or that will be done...
|
and seeing the recent changes i guess he also changed his mind slightly :P

maybe Project XXX^^
Sounds sexy. I want in on that action. Don't think if I'm well hung enough for that sort of thing though.

I guess 'little neps' isn't for sure. Maybe create 'neps XXL'

...and neither will this, so I guess all that's left would be

Heh, I don't remember this. I assume I was talking about the game with no name? Was this email/bmail/forum post/where?
That game was meant to be something different than bots so it's kind of hard to compare, but let's see how I've changed since 2007:
There will be a combat system "auto" similar to Bots where you can mindlessly click. But there will also be a combat system "manual" where you can step in and make tactical decisions. This would be something used to win a fight you couldn't normally win on auto such as fighting something above your level or maybe a boss fight.
Too radical a change for bots.

Not for bots4.
Many more item slots than Bots.
Don't know about the "many", but I'm not against more item slots. That's a big project that would come much later though.
The economy will be much more complicated than that of Bots, meaning it will exist. Not sure exactly what method you will use to sell your products (auctions, stores, etc), but you'll definitely be able to trade with other people.
I still like this, but it requires fundamental changes to the way you obtain equipment without taking away from the benefit star owners paid for. So this might come, but not for a long time.
There will be clans/guilds like in Bots, but I don't think there will be monthly competitions. There will be ways to advance your guild, but it won't necessarily be a primary objective for most people.
Obviously we have monthly competitions and they aren't going anywhere. Ways of advancing your clan might come.
There will be tradeskills with which you can craft items...not sure on the details.
Unlikely, unless the changes alluded to in the economy comment above ever come in.
There will be a map with different zones you can move around to. Not sure how travel will work, but I'm pretty sure it won't be a real-time map, probably just nodes. Each zone will have its own collection of NPCs to interact with in one way or another.
It's quite likely I'll add some sort of notion of "location", but that's not for awhile.
Quests of some form...maybe, not sure.
Probably, when I expand the PvE side of the game.
Level cap...leaning towards having one (ironic coming from me I guess), but if there was one, it could definitely be raised as new content is added. If you've ever played EverQuest, I think I'd definitely put in an alternate advancement system, which is basically a way to advance your character at the level cap.
Nope. No to AAs too...probably.
Maybe factions/reputation similar to EQ/WoW.
/shrug, maybe.
PvP will likely exist, though not in the form it exists here. I'm thinking the main focus is going to be PvE, but there will definitely be the opportunity to fight other people should you choose.
We have PvP.
There will be "events" often to keep people interested. Maybe weekly or bi-weekly. Can't really say much else besides that at this point.
This is probably the first thing on this list that will appear in bots4 (that we don't already have).

Think you'd wrote that in the forums. Looks very familiar to me.

is nos still trying to catch me in the game with no name?
|
So basically you meant to say we're keeping the game as-is and not changing anything? :P
|
is nos still trying to catch me in the game with no name?
I was, secretly. I just started not long ago though. :P
