I just wanted to share this text with bots community. By my opinion its very good, and gave me some possible logic answers about many things.

Nice read :) And if there is a god, this has to be closer to the truth than any church story.

No offense to the article, but I don't think there are 'levels' of species. The flying age comes before the wheel age? :P
I'll have to still agree with Jans however.

Not to spur on debate, but how can you possibly think there are not levels to species? You consider the amoeba as intelligent as the human?

Where does it say the flying stage comes before the wheel stage?

Development comes with 'need'.

We didn't create the wheel for nothing, nor did we create nuclear weapons to play with in our back yard.

Also, Darwins theory of evolution comes into play. The strongest will survive, if the amoeba needed to be bigger and need a home or car, then it should of made it already.

‘so our significance in the universe at present is roughly equivalent to the significance of the average Joe here on planet Earth in his relation to the human race?’

‘a little less. Level One, the level your species has reached, begins with the invention of the flying machine.

i was preety sceptical when i saw title, cause i've seen lots of stories about religion, and wasnt trust in any, same as that man in text, atheist, but also left opened possibility that something exsist. This one impressed me. :)

I would say anymore development comes with greed. Maybe once upon a time it was for survival but now its just for the greenbacks.

If Iraq would bomb the usa, would we lose money? No.
If we bombed them, would we paid from China for it? No.

@Alan: You dont seem to grasp the scale of the levels? We have mastered level 1, barely. But we wouldn't recognize a level 2 species as another living organism. That's how big the steps are.

The god character regards 'flight' to be the very first baby step of a species, so why are you moaning about the goddamn wheel? ;) Or are you criticizing God's level system? ;)

Alright, I can go with that.
Does that mean amoebas, 4.5 billion years ago, have already surpassed Level 1 and they have advanced to level 2? With no trace of them doing this. I'm all for saying they are more advanced than us, on a microscopic level, but the logic of the levels of species just isn't there for me.

Does this work with dirt also, because we classify them as 'inanimate'?

Amoeba? No, and neither have ducks? I think he means level 1 is 'developed the technology to fly'. Maybe space flight would have been a more obvious choice, but apparently the writer didnt want to go for that.

"the laws of physics and chemistry which your scientists have already largely understood"

Pff that gave it away.

Gave away that the story's a load of bollocks, to put it crudely. You've ruined it now, Dutchie.

I can't seem to find a humourous picture of a fat Russian lady. So, I'll just stick with that I guess.
