It is very profitable. Trust me. It is still a huge problem here and in other Asian countries. In fact, the main (probably only) reason it thrives is because it is so profitable. Low risk, high profit. Various organizations put the total number of slaves today at 12-27 million. I doubt people would enslave so many other people if not motivated by profit.

well first off you would have to pay someone to get you the slaves, or spend time and resources abducting people yourself. Then you would have to shelter and feed them to maximize there work output. then when they finally die due to being overworked you would have to get rid of them. compared to that id say its much easier/cheaper in todays "western" society to just pay them, yes.

Let me tell you a little story.

When I was young, I ran into trouble. I won't get into that. But anyway, because of that trouble, I got into debt. A shitload of debt. These guys I owed, they fucking owned me. I had to do shit they told me to do. And it isn't like having to pay the minimum on your fucking credit card, white boy, where you can just pay the interest and the problem goes away until next month. IT IS NOTHING LIKE THAT AT ALL.

You work where they want you to work. They'll give you shit for pay, most of which they keep, and say once you pay off your debt, you don't have to work anymore. Which is a fucking joke, because it would take decades (or generations, in some cases) at least to pay off what most of people in this kind of situation owe.

Dozens of people like you, living in a cramped shithole. You don't go to the cops, they're these guys fucking drinking buddies, they play mahjong with the cops every other night and fuck the same women they do, there isn't any going to the cops. You have no fucking rights. You break something? Extra few years. You fuck up? Extra few years.

I got lucky. Too make a long story short, let's just say good people took an interest in me. But millions of people today are still trapped in that web today.

So if you are saying slavery is not profitable, FUCK YOU. Try to look beyond your own back yard.
