I've at last joined the modern world and upgraded my 4+ year old BlackBerry.

Mobile players rejoice! I can now test on a real phone.

Hopefully Android and iPhone stuff aren't too far off. The mobile arena is completely foreign to me.

the applications are pretty different from what I've heard with versions for each. (if that is what you mean, don't know about the browser)

My understanding is that there are mobile-optimized websites and then apps. I would guess building a mobile-optimized site would be good for just about any modern phone, whereas venturing into the app arena would get into the more vendor-specific stuff. So, I'll focus on a mobile-optimized site.
