Just a moment ago I closed my Firefox before going to the bathroom to take a dump. After relieving myself I opened Firefox again and got back on bots, although I wasn't logged in still (but only being a few minutes since I last was active). I was still "online" in the online list, however.

Usually when I re-open Firefox I'm still logged in as normal unless I get logged out from inactivity. I tested it again to make sure I wasn't on another Firefox profile or anything like that and it still did it. It's not a problem but I thought that it was strange since it's never done this before. Anyone else seeing it?

Well I don't get lag spikes, and I'm not sensing any lag from the server. I think Ender recoded or added stuff and it's making this happen. I'm just curious why it's doing it. Ender halp plz!

Mines good enough to not get lag spikes though :S

Worst case scenario is it completely goes down, but that's usually from other causes and is very rare.

So if you log in, close your browser without logging out, and then reopen it you are still logged in as normal?

Mine always was like that, but for some reason that changed tonight.

um did a setting on your browser get set to clear all history on close? if so that would be a cause because clearing browser history clears recent logins.

Nah I don't have that, I never manually clear active logins either. I'll restart my computer sometime and see if it still does it.

I was able to reproduce this on Firefox (didn't try on Chrome) and haven't changed anything recently that should affect this, so the most likely explanation is that it's nothing new.

The game recognizes you across page loads via browser sessions. In general, closing out of your browser and opening it back up fresh should mean you have a new session, which would mean you're not logged in. There are exceptions to this such as when your browser crashes, some will restore your previous session and in that case you'd be logged in. That appears to be what's happening here (though not through a crash, but in the general case instead), but I didn't dig too deep.

I notice this occasionally occurs when I use chrome. Sometimes If I close out and open it back I'm still logged in, sometimes I'm not.

Ha, and as another data point, I just did this with Chrome through a reboot - was logged into game, closed Chrome, rebooted computer, opened Chrome, was still logged in.

Just to clarify, I'm using profiles for Firefox. To my knowledge when I reopen the same profile it's the same session every time, at least until now anyway. But like I said it's no problem it was just my curiosity. Thanks for looking into it even if it was just a bit.
