On May 11th 0:00:00 - May 12th 23:00:00,
I will be organizing a competition. This competition will encourage the bots community to test their true skills. As this competition will be separate from Ender and purely for amusement and maybe bragging rights, there will be no trophy points awarded. All participants are encouraged to join in the chatroom during the competition period.
Rules are as follows:
- Bots can only train
- Bots must be created after the start time of the competition
- Participants must include in their Botname the word "May"
- Make a post in this thread to sign-up from the participating bot (Feel free to mention the name of your main bot)
- No stars on the participating bots
- After the competition, all bots will have a 48-hour period to make a post in this thread with screenshots of their entire fight history log
Breaking the rules will lead to disqualification.

Why limit it to just training? Having access to good xp whores surely is a skill as well?

Because it'll limit the winners to those that have access to the hisghest level ones.
For instance, there are some people that could, with the right amount of effort and whores available, likely reach level 200 within 48 hours.

I've reached level 170 in day, I think both Rene and neps have done 200+ in a day or two, so yeah. Ratio whores would ruin this competition.

Cool idea. I think I've mentioned this elsewhere, but it would be awesome to have these sorts of mini-competitions built into the game. For now, I'm content with player-organized ones though. :)

Kinda strict to people who would like to make the bots beforehand so they can start at the starting time. I already made mine. I guess I'll just make another and call it Mayday2 or something after starting time. Unless I'm now disqualified for it xD

Thought of a couple other things:
1) Will buffs be allowed?
2) It should be banned for the duration of the challenge that any player participating can attack other people's training bots with other bots aka "time wasters"(bots with low ratios who attack others to waste their time instead of being able to train/gain xp/energy score) or secret ratio whores.

Feel free to create a new bot at the start of the competition Zal.
Buffs are allowed. With the restriction of the creation date, people can use at most 2 buffs (excluding the starting buff)
I can't prevent/monitor time waster bots, but you can build time waster bots to counter other time waster bots. I don't think most people will bother with it. Time waster bots would at most target the top participants, as it is optional to identify yourself.
With the screenshots of fight history, I think most people won't bother with ratio whores. Although using ratio whores to attack your leveling bot isn't against the rules, this competition was designed to be fair to all players. Since most ratio whores are well-known within community, feel free to post some disapproving comments about certain bots.

I wouldn't worry about being late, this is a 2 day competition. People have to sleep and do other things, so even if you start behind now, there's plenty of time to catch up and overtake.

it's updated every 5-6 mins, but the actual one i use is updated about once per minute. So I'll just take a snapshot of the levels at the end of the competition, so the delay of the page won't have any impact on the competition.

Haha Shoy I can explain for that win on the bot, I was attacking all the level bots with my ratio whores too get kudos because I was levelling some dumpers and I forgot too unwhore my ratio whore one time before I attacked it. So the outcome is he would have won that fight no matter what :P a big fail on my behalf because I had kudos already and it fixed my weapons and I had too re break them :(

Interesting, most of the participants seem to be euro timezone or just most of the players in the game are european.... I might need to re-think the timezone of the competition for next time.

In Portugal the mother's day is on the first sunday of May. Since in Spain it is the same, I assumed it was universal, hence my surprise after reading the last post. Then I did a great research and found I was completely wrong!
