We all know this has been brought up before but things change over time so lets see what you guys think on the direction this game is going into?

A few people have talked about the big name scorers just are busy now a days or just dont play anymore and with not enough new players to replaces the old many see it as a game that is bound to die shortly.

Oh come on! I take a couple of days of bots, and people are saying the game is dying.

its not you benny boy. theres a lot of other people that just stopped playing. got bored like neps did and had rea life stuff to deal with.

If i am not mistaken bots "dieing" for like 10 years now. And people still playing it.

Bots seems to have a big circle of life meaning it never actually dies. Eternal dominated for a long time, got bored and gave way for Escapism to dominate, Escapism haven't really scored properly since march because of no competition, but now Arcane have come through as an active clan

But one thing is for certain, Atreides will always be there!

I think as Arcane starts to pose a threat to Escapism and there starts to be a bigger clan war then in a few months Eternal may start coming back into the game and there could be 3 clans going at it, the game will never die it'll just have it's ups and downs.

as for the original question. the player base in all games shifts over time & there will be inevitable peaks & troughs in activity but bots always seems to carry on.

Here's some data, for what it's worth. The site still averages 400-500 visits a day and that hasn't changed much. As mentioned, bots has been "dying" for at least a decade now. There's going to be a certain amount of churn with any game, so the people you saw a week ago, a month ago, or a year ago aren't going to be the same as you see today.

That being said, I know there's more I could be doing as the admin/owner to stimulate things so that next time I post a chart I can point out an incline rather than just the lack of a decline. :)

I have been loyal since launch, I would've signed up earlier but I didn't know you could. Alpha/Beta are usually pretty exclusive. Missed that damn trophy...

I started Bots 2 in about April/May of 2003. Began this game (id 56) about 6 days after Ender created his bot. I'm still here, and probably always will be.

The tracking occasionally gets spammed, I don't think that was a real traffic spike.

Unique visitors per day is closer to 200. Of these, roughly 20% are considered new visitors, though I don't know over what time period GA classifies a visitor as being "new".

If you just mean since Bots4 I've been here the whole time. With the exception of when my old computer died :(

I´ve been playing since early 2002 (with breaks). Also, I think I´ve logged in pretty much every day since CB...

That makes me just about as effective as Jans at this game :)

I've been playing since late 2002. Longest break i've taken is maybe half a year.

i mean just bots4 not bots in general. just since the big heavy players quit. not saying some of them arent around but the big super stars are gone. now fish looks to be quitting, thats a blow to escapism right there.
