Post your thoughts! I've had a Ps1, ps2, then went to xbox because Kingdom Hearts 3 never came out. Then had xbox 360. Well, with recent news, I feel like I'll be getting a PS4. Not sure just yet! I heard a price tag of like $800?

I usually get the consoles well after they've been out for a while. Only exception was PS3 because it was backwards compatible, the 2006 20GB model. That's the newest system I have. Likely will wait a good while for the PS4 price to come down, if not the second gen miniaturized version. Unless they come out with games for it that I do really want to play, that can always entice me :)

I have the "new" version of the 360. Black with chrome accents. 250GB. Ps4 has a new racing game coming out. Drive Club. Reminds of Midnight Club. I loved that game. I can't stand Need for Speed because of all the cops. Let me drive my car and leave me alone. I like cruising and racing.

Like, I've never played any Grand Theft Auto because I can't stand being chased.

I imagine Elder Scrolls will release something on the PS4, probably would look into buying it for that.

I'm not a fan of Xbox, especially now that they were flip floppy like Al Gore. Did they really think they could implement those features and not cause a plummet of sales/interest?

Ya, it's dumb with all these new "rules". I feel bad for Gamestop. Not being able to buy used games for this gen of consoles :/

last I heard the PlayStation 4 was $400. And since Microsoft finally dropped the check in requirement can't we still use used games or what am I missing?

Threads about consoles on any forum often become nothing but fan boyism... as for what console I'm going to buy... I'm going to buy a new graphics card for my pc. PC gaming imo is better for most games the only ones I like better on consoles are sporting games. The mouse + keyboard are such a convenient package for user interface.

The newest game machine i have and have ever owned is a Nintendo Game Cube.

just ot throw out there ps4 is 399 starting price and microsoft changed the shitbox to where it can have used games now and not have to be on line 24/7 now cause of the preorder sales and how bad sony was beating them. Ive always been a sony fan anyways.

I'm getting a little tired of games consoles trying to be more. I do not need my console to be a:

• smart TV
• web browser
• DVD/blu ray player
• any other shit they want to add on

All these needless additions bump up the price and add nothing to the game play experience. So that & the fact that Microsoft were quite happy to leech even more money from their customers excludes the Xbox1 for me.

Like DNM I think I'll stick to my laptop too. Besides how can any game ever match up to BOTS ....

I've been a diehard Xbox lover since the original. Now I'm completely converted to the PC. Every bit of my faith in console gaming is gone. Last thing I'll buy for my 360 is GTA 5, and only because it won't be launching on the PC.

I just don't like the feel of Windows 8.

As a computer tech id rather use windows 7 or xp. Which i still run both those on most the computers in the house along with Linux and mac OS along with chrome os now. I dont mind a console having a blueray player. means i dont have to go buy a blueray player now. Best way to go on those is to go up in price. Either way im going ps4.

Good news for you, The Windows 8.1 update will be adding the "Start" menu back and won't be forcing you to use the tiles. You can use your desktop.

DNM was referring to used game sales. When retailers like Gamestop sell used games, the developers make nothing from that. There's retailers that will try to force the sale of a used copy on a customer that would originally have bought it new as well because all the profits from a used game sale goes straight to that retailer.

Steam always has absurd sales because of how popular digital sales are (which also is basically a DRM since you can't sell it), the developers always make money. Ever see sales on the consoles that can hold a candle to Steam? This is exactly why you don't.

If they didn't make money, they wouldn't be making game after game.
