As stated at the page the bots will be reset when the game is released. I did see the purpose with this after closed beta. But now that we are in open beta mode and it all seem to be going quite well with Ender doing such a good job i dont see the need for an reset anymore.

So this thread is kind of an petition that i want ppl to sign under if they agree with me. Everyone please stick to the topic.

Thanks for your time.

Can't agree with this.

Ender has already had the decency to allow the O.Beta people to keep their bots to avoid a second reset, but everyone needs to be reset before the game is officially released so we all start off on equal footing.

i agree i dont see a need for a reset. everything seems to be working fine, updates are still being made by ender and it seems to going smooth. Plus people are donating like crazy right now!

Who cares if people donate, the bots will still keep their stars.
I say we all get reset. Otherwise it isn't fair.

Life has never been fair tho. And if someone start playing in 6 months they will be starting at 0 when others are in 150. Someone always have to be first out and others join later.

i dont see the need for a reset. people still joined bots2 even though they were at a disadvantage for the players who have always played. the people who donated might not want a reset because the stars would be useless to them at first, when they can find use for them now.

i understand that some may want a reset because i see both sides of this. i wouldnt mind a reset to fix my bot but at the same time i dont want to go through all the low levels again. its time consuming and i would rather just stick with the level i have now.

But it was said in advance we'd be reset, so I for one have been experimenting with numerous bots and trying to test things in game without worrying about a proper build, knowing that we'll all be reset in the near future.

We were told we'd be reset, so I don't think just because a few people have leveled their beta bots to a higher level, that should be waived.

a reset may push new players away who are playing now and who werent around for bots2 because they wont know how to level their bot quickly. with a reset putting them back at the beginning they may be discouraged to play again because it took them time to get where they were before the reset.

this is all just my opinion though. ill be happy with whatever decision ender makes, im just glad the game is back

No.

The only decision Ender needs to make is whether or not to delete us all or reset us all back to level 1. There's no room for people who don't want to lose the bot they've made in open beta.

Also its the financial part. I know about 5 ppl who awaits the decision to make a donation or not as they wont continue playing if reset. And lost income is never funny or gain the game.

They won't continue playing if reset knowing full well that they were going to be reset at the end of open beta? *sigh*

not if they had never played before and were trying it out. because they wont know how to level fast like older players do and they might not want to do it again, so they are just enjoying the game until the day the reset comes.

everyone has their own view on this topic, as i've stated ill be perfectly happy with the decision ender makes in the end because i am happy he brought the game back for us. without him we wouldnt even be having this discussion.

Well a reset was stated to occur after the Closed Beta and the Open Beta.

The Closed Beta reset never happen, but the Open Beta reset should happen. It's a fresh start, though some people will have tiny advantages (stars whatever).

The only people complaining about a reset are the ones that are whining about losing their current wins/levels/energy whatever, when really the Open Beta was simply for testing, it wasn't for gaining any advantage over anyone else.

spud3 [59]

Agree with that last part entirely.

People were warned in advance they would be reset. The idea is to test the game functionality under load, eliminate bugs, make sure things are working fine, and we all knew this. If you played countless hours on the one bot, knowing you were going to be reset, but hopeful you could petition otherwise to get an advantage, that's your own fault, not everyone elses.

True Erica. And all that is well known. What still happens is that ppl will get attached to theyr accounts after spending some hours fighting or hitting the train again link. So yes its stated and eveyone knew about it in advance. But as the game has continued from closed and all working fine it would be ashame to lose players who will contribute to the game beacause of an reset.

Think of it as pre-season. Anybody who leaves before the season actually starts is quite simply retarded. They won't be missed, new players will come in and the cycle will be complete when the players with neurological deficits realise they shouldn't have left and come back.

Don't agree with a reset because it will take even longer to get the clan competition running effectively. I also think it will probably discourage players who don't want to level that much again.

I agree with a reset, gives everyone a fair chance to start from scratch. Well, as said stars will be an advantage but a tiny one..

Half the fun will be racing each other to level up and to see who can get the good builds first etc.

It doesn't take long to level - pack on some int, buy the redis points if you're planning on fighting eventually, and redis when you hit the desired level.

The issue is most of you guys started way late into Bots2 when you were able to level and everything incredibly quickly.

This is a new game, a new shot, though everyone's 'figured out' the game already. The neat thing is that it hasn't been fleshed out, everyone's low level, clans are weak, everything for the most part is basic.

There's no reason not to reset, other than people's half-warranted sentimenal feelings towards their accounts that can be very easily re-achieved.

It's not like you're losing hundreds of thousands of wins and clanscore, you're losing... maybe a month of effort.

They really don't need to be deleted.. Just to reset them all would be the same, no differences. Ender might delete level 1 bots after 60 days of inactivity or something like that?

"register
Create account
bots4 is in open beta and your account will be reset before the release."

it's stated anyway in the registration form (started in Open Beta). new players are already informed and they should do what they think should be done in beta stage rather than playing the game seriously knowing that it will be reset (which will lead to them being disappointed). this stage is good for finding a good build, socialize with other people for clan reasons or etc, and studying how the game works while Ender solves any bugs found, fix the server if ever problems occur and add some features that are in his list or any new ideas suggested by players.

I prefer though that all bots are deleted (EXCEPT for those bots that have STARS on them, Ender will just reset them to level 1). this way there wont be any excess bots in level 1 if ever new players wont come back due to the reset.

Reset is fine imo. Levelling isn't painful at all. Worst case maybe we need a general "levelling guide" for the new people who don't know how to level fast.

I dunno, seems like people are blowing it out of proportion. Most of the veteran players lost multiple bots with hundreds of thousands of wins and clanscore when Bots2 was lost. So losing some lvl <100 with a few thousand wins is nothing to most of us.

A reset is needed.

It'd be one thing if the game was exactly the same as it was in the beginning of closed beta, but it's not.

For example, some people in the closed beta got double xp for like a day or so because of an error in the formula.

You knew before you started that it was going to be reset when open beta finishes, it was your decision to keep levelling, of course I won't be too happy losing my progress, but knowing everyone else will be having the same done is good enough for me.

This is the thing.
All beta participants knew bots will be reset, so why are some of them complaining now... Don't wanna lose your effort - don't play much now...

I have been wondering why people are trying so hard to look impressive in the beta era. I haven't even bothered lvling my bot anymore because I know that release is shortly coming. Then I'll open a can of Tango on people's ass.

I have as much time as others invested into my accounts but I'm also tired of having noone to attack.

There needs to be a reset at the end of beta, bottom line. Yea it will suck not keeping your bot. My solution is don't spend so much time on it now and just test whatever out and then be happy at reset and start again.

Voxymaus [101]

I want to test out my build(s). That's the only reason I've put so much time and effort into the open beta, gives me a chance to make mistakes and test things. The open beta will still be going for another 1-2 months I"m guessing.
