I've finally watched this film. Defiantly not what I was expecting honestly. I did like it after a lot of research to finally figure it out.
Still a couple of questions, opinions of course. James Cole finished his job, I think.
1.) Do you think the insurance lady (scientist) at the end stopped the virus, or just obtained a sample?
2.) Do you think the scientist who sniffed the vile at the airport, initially spread the virus?
3.) Why were the 12 Monkeys so prominent in the movie, yet they weren't even the people who started the virus. Yes, James told Jeff, "Maybe the human race should be whipped out", so one could say James sparked the virus idea.
4.) Who the hell is the guy with no teeth, Bob? Past time traveler, but what for?
Thanks!

Need to watch again, been a long time - Remember it was a good film though.

I know the past can't be changed. Here is my thought on time-travel.
You have a timeline of events let's say. Someone is born, they go to school, go to the army. Should of shot said person, but died because they acted to late. It could of changed the world.
They send the guy back to change it. He knows that he needs to kill the guy. He doesn't know when because he hasn't done it yet. He then acts late, like the timeline says, because he doesn't know when. Making the timeline repeat itself.
I feel this is the entire plot of 12 Monkeys. James didn't know he was going to die, until the very end. He didn't know when either. He was reliving his life, and yet he didn't even know it. So, with this theory, the past can not be changed. Right?
Even the insurance lady is a scientist, but she doesn't ever time travel. Neither does the airport security guard. James and Jose are the only ones who time travel.
I just need closure as I'm still thinking about it!

I don't think they wanted to stop it because they knew they couldn't really stop it is what I got from it.
Control / Antidote of some sort? But obviously if the guy knows he's doomed to fail he wouldn't bother at all?
|
Of course they want to make the antidote, but they never told him what was going to happen, nor does he personally "remember". It's all a flashback as a kid.
He knew he was going to finally die, so he ripped out his teeth so he couldn't be taken back to the future and made to go back to the past again.

It's a movie about the classic time traveling dilemma.
|
only a dilemma if you want it to be .. the multiverse theory is the solution

Wasn't a clan called the 12 monkeys?? :/
|
There was a bots2 clan called 12 monkeys.
Jans owned it, Shoegazer was a part of it, as was Ender.
|
I feel an urge to answer these questions but they could be better explained through watching La Jetee or just searching around the net for your answers (La Jetee is the French film 12 Monkeys was based on).
|
There were more of us in 12monkeys on green as well, including gr33n and myself, probably more currently active people but no names spring to mind (sorry!)
I was the permanently inactive monkey but I helped train george during the time that redis got capped but certain bots got to keep what they already had.

Thanks for not answering. I have looked up the answers to my questions. Wasn't fully satisfied.

Thanks for not answering. I have looked up the answers to my questions.
If you did that in the first place you wouldn't have been disappointed when you logged into bots

Good movie, really not that complicated.
