Do you see this guy as good or bad? Obviously what he did was wrong and he shouldn't have gone about things the way he did, however he did raise a lot of money for charity. Once he got caught out after many years of taking epo and other substances which are banned from the sport he now has/had a huge price to pay.

I'd say he's a terrible person purely based on the fact he sued people who said he was on steroids and adamantly fought cases against him... while being on steroids. Also a pretty bad role model (now, at least) as he was THE cyclist that probably every aspiring kid wanted to be like, which may make them think it's fine.

Jimmy Saville raised loads of money for charity. Does that make him good?

I would suggest both Armstrong & Saville did this to cover their true selfs.

Good point rose. Had circumstances been similar I would agree but come on comparing lance and savile one cheated by using drugs and the other is a pedophile.

Regardless of drug use, he managed to raise 500million bucks for cancer research. Thats more than most people.

Besides, majority of those guys are drugged up on something.

I wasn't comparing, just pointing out that good deeds do not erase bad deeds. Armstrong lied, cheated, bullied, took false accocolades, denied others their rightful glory & became rich off of it.

He is definitely not someone I'd want to chill out with.

I honestly think it should be allowed. The war on doping is just as stupid as the war on drugs in general.

Some people do bad things because they are misguided or think they are doing the right thing. Do I think he is good? No. Do I think he is scum? Maybe. I don't nor will I ever know this man personally, so I cannot and will not judge him.

Good on him for raising money and helping people, however the negative affect his actions had on the lives of many legitimate sports people is incalculable.

He's done and good and he's done bad. If nothing else, he's a good example of why it's better to put your faith in virtues than in people.

Spot on Ender ^

I have no respect for the guy at all. When people spoke out against him for using PED he persecuted them under a court of law. He took people to court that said he was doping and said that they were attacking his character. This nigga lied under oath, fuck him.

I actually kind of respect his sports achievements. Doping or not. He was some sportsman.

But as a person i think of him as a cold-hearted man with psychopathic traits. What he has done, said and believed cannot be done by a person with a normal level of empathy.

He was the worst kind of sportsman, a lying, cheating, willing to do whatever it takes just to win, scumbag.
