Maybe after like 100 new posts, you could suffice with saying [lots!] or [100+] instead of the actual number :P

Then again, it might become a competition of its own, who has the most unread forum posts? ;)

Good idea, I like the 100+ thing. I'll do that...someone remind me if I forget. :)

And you can set the forum reset time to any time you want with a little URL manipulation.

Please don't hide the actual value completely though. Make it say 100+ and then display the real value when you hover the link or something.

And speaking of hover, all the sidebar links with numbers should have an explanation of what they mean.

"4 unspent distribution points"
