Gradually faster, pressing forward. This is the meaning of stringendo. It is but a musical definition but think of it as an influence on the human mind. We all wish to become better, become stronger, and even to a few of us, become the best. We strive for this as though we have control over ourselves. We force ourselves to go faster and achieve more so that we can show the children that we set an example, we are the example. But then they go faster than us and our lives seem to blur past us. Our goal in life should not be to achieve more but feel more, love and hate more, all in an effort to slow us down and make us see that we are not judged by the speed or efficiency of what we do but that we can do it. We are who we are.
