I think this has been suggested before, but i couldn't find it. So here it is (again).
Always keep your total energy, you can clanhop all you want, but the total energy is bound to your bot and not a clan.

Completely agree. For the love of the game, make this happen! |

Not sure we've made a dedicated thread for it, but we have talked about it a bit in other ones. I agree that the total energy obtained on a bot shouldn't be lost, at least for record keeping sake. A lot of people spend a lot of time gathering energy. |

Yes please! |

Not sure I like the idea of keeping it all in regards to HoF when it comes to switching clans, but some type of tracking/running total like nos said at the very least displayed on a bots profile or whatever. I do think it would be good to have your total energy for specific clans saved if you re-join though, any bots that do resets comes to mind. |

I do think that having total energy for HoF purposes would help push more of the "idlers" down though. And I didn't even think about reset bots. |

when it comes to switching clans Clans? Plural? When did we get more than one clan again? In my opinion, anything that encourages possible mobility instead of trying to discourage and stifle it is simply good. Besides, it should just be consistent. Currently, no one ones energy. Clans do. You have some share of the clan's energy. Bots should own their energy they create. Simple. Besides, remember the good ol' days of sabotage and everything else? You never felt safe. Would just be more interesting if someone could leave in the middle of a month and take their energy somewhere else. Oh no, the game might be less boring... Besides, again, mobility is just good and beneficial. It was one thing before the game revolved around a trophy system. But now, the game very actively discourages people from moving very freely. Like, who the heck would move a bot right now if it meant sacrificing TPs? It's completely ridiculous. And... we as much as I'd love to completely change the trophy system... that isn't happening... so... the game should work around that. As it currently stands though... it all just doesn't work very well together. |

When you leave a clan to join a different one, there is a clan you were previously in, and one you are in after. That is multiple clans. What are you on about?
This has already been a thing aside from carrying the energy over. A clan still loses the energy from a bot leaving. There's been instances in the past where it was relevant for the monthly race. |

There's one big clan in the game that everyone joined. The game kinda doesn't even have more than one clan... |

At the current time, sure. The game is however, 15 years old in it's current iteration and multiple people have switched clans often due to the nature of some clans having multiple people lose interest and they themselves wanting to continue to play. |

Ender, I know you're working on this. Could an addition to this be made so that when a player leaves a clan, the clan's total energy gained is also not lost with that player? So a two-fold thing. The player keeps his total energy (for historical reasons) but also the clan keeps their total energy for the same reason. |
|
My suggestion would be a reset for all bots/clans when it comes to energy.. new rules and everyone starts at square one, built it up again. |

Re: Clan total energy - If I were to add this, the way I'd likely do it is to have a clan stat that sums up past monthly energy results. This is close to, but not exactly the same as what you have in mind (different because a bot leaving mid-month wouldn't count). That said, with the energy exchange increases for May, the concept and meaning of total energy may need to be revisited since month-to-month/lifetime values aren't fully comparable anymore. This will also give flexibility to continuously make changes to the system over time. So for that reason, I'm going to hold off on clan-specific lifetime energy stats and do just bot-specific for now. This can always be revisited. Re: Full reset - There will never be a full reset, but something along the lines of Diablo II ladder seasons may happen at some point. This is a much larger topic though. (Administrative note: A few posts containing personal attacks / heavily sarcastic and condescending content were removed. Please remember to keep discussion focused on the topic at hand and be civil towards one another, even when you disagree strongly.) |

That's essentially what I had in mind. I don't consider the stats banked unless the month(game) ends. So I consider that a fair assessment of how both should be done. I also assumed that's how it would be done in any case. |
