My turn to ask a question about the game. :)

Did I ever explain/document the point system used for clans in tournaments? For example, looking at the latest tournament's results, Escapism came in 1st place with 70 points, then Reservoir Dogs in 2nd place with 39 points, and so on. As best I can tell, the point system is never described anywhere, not even in a forum post. I'm wondering if I'm overlooking something though.

For context in case folks are curious, I'm looking to reuse this point system for...something...and wanted to link to a description of it. I think I've yet to write this description in the first place though.

And for the record, it's using the Formula One point system from 2010 and onward, i.e. 25 points for 1st, 18 points for 2nd, etc. I searched the forums for "formula one" and didn't find anything interesting, so that's why I think I never mentioned it before in a post.

Whoops! Yeah. 942 points for 1st, 350 points for second, etc.

I thought you just pulled it out of your butt.

Mind you I don't watch car racing.

I knew the point system used in the tournaments was from Formula One. I thought I have read this somewhere in the forum but I could not find it either. Maybe you told me in the chat or in a bmail, who knows :P

Okay thanks everyone, sounds like I might have mentioned this in passing in a bmail or IRC or something, but it's pretty likely not documented anywhere "official". I'll take care of that soon.

P.S. For the curious, I'm pretty sure I stole this idea from Jans from the bots2 days. I think he used to rank clans over time using Formula One scoring. :)

We discussed it in chat shortly after the tournaments were implemented, but I'm not sure anything in the forums were ever posted about it.

For posterity, this is now documented!

...and in use for the new longevity rankings:
