I think someone self demoted as owned. Really should disable that ability :p

Well, I'm stumped. The same thing as two days ago happened where an owner demoted themselves to NC, but I don't know how this happened because I supposedly removed that ability.

In my local testing, I see the demote option removed for the clan owner, as expected. Further, manipulating the demote URL to put the owner id into it shows an error, as expected. Looking at the code, it looks sound at a glance, but obviously something is amiss.

If you can get to the demote page as a clan owner, please let me know how you are able to do it and I will be very appreciative!

I can see the D on my own name. I can click the D and get to choose what rank to demote myself to. Don't want to click NC in case I mess it up again for ya

Someone had demoted themselves again. That has been repaired and the clans page is once again working.

As for how people are able to demote themselves, I've figured out the obvious (and embarrassing) explanation to all this. When I patched the bug a couple days ago, I was in a rush and forgot to actually push out the update to the server. So things worked perfectly when I tested locally just now, the code looked right because it is right, etc. The option should no longer be present, but let me know if it is (and don't actually use it, please).

The current implementation treats clan owner as a separate rank from NC, so there's no way for a bot to be both. This won't really matter once NC is removed though.
