Here is an example. The int bots are all out of energy, leaving me to: (1) wait an hour for the int bots to gain 20 energy each, or (2) attack dragonrose.
Dragonrose, being an answerer bot like me, should win about 50% of her fights against me.. maybe a little more.
I am the attacker, so I gain about 18 energy every time I win. And lose about 9 energy every time I lose.
So 18(energy)x100(fights)=1800/2(losses)= 900 (energy that I stand to gain from attacking dragonrose.)
But where does that leave dragonrose? down 900 with no way to get that energy back because she is 1 level higher then me.
Retaliation will solve this issue. I attacked dragonrose 100 times. now she should be able to retaliate and attack me 100 times back.
Doing this would encourage good bots that are the same level to fight each other without fear of leveling and being defenseless.
Thoughts?

I like this, if it only involves attacking people back that has already attacked you.
|
Can only be used within 24 hours.
|
I second this and it gives the higher level bots more options
|
Ive noticed people using this tactic to gain energy off me which I can't get back. It would be nice if there was a retaliation system implemented to counter it.
|
Could even come with an achievement "The Retardiated", after 100k retaliations :)

Indeed LaResistance I have been getting exceedingly frustrated over the past few days with this situation.
Yes I accept that the targets are limited. But being attacked by a lower level who leeches my energy with absolutely no way of me being able to regain that energy has left me a very unhappy bunny :(
However I am not sure that the old revenge attack system as used in Bots2 will leave me satiated either. As I would only be able to attack you for the amount of losses you dealt to me. Which still would leave me in a deficit position if our bots are evenly matched.
For instance if we went 50:50 & you gained 20 points in energy per win you would be quids in by 1000.
I get 50 revenge attacks go 25:25 assuming 20 points again, I can only regain 500 of my stolen energy :-/
& that was the logic of my thinking behind this suggestion

ummm ye I forgot to add that I support this idea ^^

downraping is not an option in this game. Though i second the suggestion, simply on the basis the energy in this game can only directly flow to lower levels, with two indirect ways for energy going to higher levels: a) bots with energy level up and b) losses against a higher level bot. Resulting in bots as Dragonrose not being able to gain energy (you should've know when you went to rediss for 80 answerers darling ;) ), but also disencouraging good bots, like mine and other top energy bots to attack other high energy bots. If i rape one good ratio bot, i gain 1 or maybe one and a half level, leaving me with less targets. So i dont and instead attack low ratio bots, ruining the goal of the energy system. As suggest before by Azrael i believe: Ratio bonus on XP should go down, or be deleted altogether. Next i support the suggestion above.

hey I was sitting pretty up there at 80 with just me & a bevy of int bots to harvest ... & then LaResistance & a few others arrived to ruin my pillaging spits ;)
|
correction, i've also been farming your targets since a week or so ;)
|
This is an important suggestion and should be implemented asap.
I wouldn't mind getting the chance to return some rapes soon :) My bot has been attacked over 1500 times but has never fought back. Not a single fight picked. What a softie.

It had to happen eventually!

Oh, 24 hours is too short a time for everyone. Let retaliation fights be available for 3 days.
|
I really like this idea, however like Manior said, this will disrupt the flow of energy. Does this retaliation happen when you want to avenge a win or loss? This might reduce the amount of players trying out targets higher than their level because if they loose, they will end up loosing the 20 energy + the 18-22 for retaliation.
To combat this happening in the first place, I've just created bots which are just a few level differences from each other. If someone ever rapes my main bot of energy which it cannot target due to level differences, I just do the same to it on my bot which is lower levelled =)
|
I vaguely remember a revenge system back in bots2 (I could be wrong, very sick at the moment), when someone lower level than you attacked you, you would be able to attack back once.
I don't know if anyone else remembers this, or if this is just me being delusional.
Anyway, I support. +1

Well they would lose 10 + 18 to 22 retaliation. But that would be the risk for attacking higher level bots :P
More Risk = more reward

I have to admit I only skimmed these two retaliation/revenge threads, but what I had in mind is that you can attack lower levels bots however many times they attack you. This should allow you to attempt to recover stolen energy if you want.
|
planning to set a maximum time on that Ender? Otherwise you can just outlevel them (lets say 10-15 levels) and win 100 % against them.
|
Yeah, there'd be a timeout. I don't have anything in mind though. 7 days? Same as attacks last in attack log? If someone really wants to level up a bunch just for the purpose of revenge, more power to them I guess.
|
I think that, in addition to a set time, there should be a level limit as well. So, I can't level up to get out of their attack range and retaliate.
Basically, I can't retaliate if they can no longer attack me at all.
