With the implementation of the Dark Energy buff, I often find myself trying to gain energy with either the Spirit of the Wolf Buff, or the Dark Energy buff - never both.

So I know it sounds a little greedy, but my suggestion is to allow 2 buffs to be purchased daily instead of 1.

Active trainers have to put up with only buying the xp buff, so I don't see why scorers need to have both the speed buff and the energy buff. It would be nice to see the duration on the energy buff go up to 1000 though.

Huh, trainers can also make use of the speed buff + exp buff to level faster. In fact when I used to level up bots, I would never train/fight without both buffs active. Not using both buffs felt like time-wasting.

By active, I meant those doing about 1k trains a day, in which case you can't buy the speed buff at the same time.

Oh ok, it will still help though for 1000 trains per day. That's probably at least 3 hours for you guys.

3 hours? But that's like, an average 10.8 sec/train. I wish. Hehe. It's actually more like 10 hours per 1k trains. There was a time when I managed 1k trains daily. Those days are gone. Many of my trains go past the 40 second mark, and sometimes I see 50+ sec trains.

Any, on-topic, I don't see how a two-buff/day rule is justified.

With the double buff you could spend 5 hours a day and get the same exp as 10 hours. Lots of time saved there.

Either way I don't mind. I never score or train without both speed/energy or speed/exp buffs respectively. I just wait a day so that both are active if I have to.

Trophy points are limited anyways so people will have to still save their points whether they can only buy 1 buff or 10 buffs per day.

The rule was implemented because of certain people purchasing stars to maintain their buffs always being active.

The one-per-day buff purchase restriction was added because buffs had meant to be temporary benefits, not always-on bonuses. I could revisit this decision if it sounds like players want to be able to spend more freely. It's also worth noting that trophy points from stars is actually a relatively small portion of all trophy points (3.5%), but I wouldn't be against adding more "renewable" means of obtaining them for all players.

I've heard I drove him away with the one buff per day policy, but is that really true?

It can't be proven without him, but he did quit playing very soon after you implemented that policy. Also perhaps a medium ground could be reached, but I'm rather fond of the idea of people not being able to keep their buffs on non-stop.

The one buff per day policy hasn't really changed much for me, except I can't have a speed buff on at the same time as my xp buff unless I'm not very active. It doesn't affect my dumpers at all, as they only dump 100-200 wins at a time, and can easily have two buffs running simultaneously.

The only situation where it is a hindrance is when you buy the wrong buff, or if you're building a new bot and want to have both the speed buff and another buff active at the same time (usually the xp buff).

Nonsense, he was very active for several months after that. He stopped playing around the holidays, like he went on holiday then didn't come back. Must have made a New Year's resolution of sorts to stop playing bots. Hehe.

I talked to him the other day and he just isn't active because he's busy.. He said he'd be more active again in a couple months.

I think the 1 buff per day restriction is just right. Please leave it as it is wiggin.

i agree with dragonrose, but it could maybe be extended to 1 buff of each tier pr day

That's not agreeing. Dragonrose said keep the one-buff system, you said max three buffs instead of one. 1 = 3? How the fuck is that agreeing.

That's like me saying "I want a flat tax rate" and then some fucking commie saying "I totally agree with you, but let's tax you extra if you're rich okay?"

^ Not a good analogy

More like "Lets have a flat tax rate". "Lets have a flat tax rate for food. Then another for cars. Then another for houses".

:)

Actually Alan, that example you gave would still be considered a flat tax as far as my analogy was concerned, provided everyone still got the same tax rate per category regardless of their income bracket.

That aside, you're overthinking this. The only thing I felt I needed to illustrate, hence the only thing I went far enough to show, was an asshat saying/thinking they agree when they actually did not.

As a compromise, maybe a looser restriction could be worked into the game holidays idea - "unlimited buff purchase day".
