Hi Ender,

I have a suggestion, why not create a new server "Classic version", where we would have jansindex, clan score, diplomacy all the stuff we used to have in old school bots2. I promise I would play and even donate for stars :)

I even want to develop something like this, with help and approval of Ender of course. Give me a message Ender if you want to team up.

I doubt Ender has floR's original source code lying round, and even if he did it'd probably need some changes to work in 2019. Classic versions of games have needed a lot of work to get running (wow, runescape), and you're probably better off thinking of additions onto bots4, rather than new games completely

You could probably do that anyway Peter, don't think any permissions are needed unless you're wanting it integrated to bots4 somehow.

Sorry, I don't have any plans to create a classic edition. The bots4 playerbase is already kind of small, plus it would be a lot of work to maintain multiple versions of the game.

And yeah, if anyone wants to build/run/maintain a new version of the game with a different ruleset, by all means please do so! It would be pretty hypocritical of me to say to not do that considering how bots4 came to be. Just be warned that it's a lot of work in many different ways, so I don't advise doing it unless you're committed to doing it for the long haul. :)

It can't be that difficult to make it so that every bot accumulates energy whether clanned or not. Then again, I dont know jack about programming soo... However I will say, the only players that would be against ALL bots accumulating energy are those that were willing to build mounds, mountains and scores of multiple bots, which isnt fair to the common player that wants to compete... My intuition is something special people. If my comment here isnt followed with escapism refuting this idea, it'll be everyone else that isn't escapism that would agree with me. but MARK MY WORDS the only people that will reject this idea is escapism!which goes to show that the game has been takin hostage by a band of players that have effectively monopolized that game base around a faulty energy system. Please Ender, everyone knows me! my intentions are pure.

This has been suggested in the past, with mixed opinions. Personally, I wouldn't be against it.

Even if I were to do this,
Nothing guarantees that people would actually enjoy it.
Daily activity could definitely go down.

However,
Every idea deserves to at least being considered,
Lest I overlook a diamond in the rough.
Players are more happy with this sort of outcome.

Yeah but Ender nothing is ever a guarantee and if you did things according to whether they are guaranteed or not, we wouldn't be here right..

I am certain it will create more activity and can guarantee my activity would go up.
