Seems like a flash version of Cookie Clicker, albeit one you probably can't cheat as easily. You better watch out though, some people don't like it when you advertise other games here :p

This is pretty cool :) even easier to let auto run than Defend your Castle from Xgen.

Some thoughts:

• Definitely the same "idle games" genre as Cookie Clicker. I've heard that one's not really actively developed anymore though (this one is).
• There's a lot of end-game content and more added regularly. Check out /r/clickerheroes for some crazy theorycrafting. The dev also posts on there a lot.
• The genre is definitely polarizing - you either love it or don't really see the point. This thread talks about the addictiveness of games like this: "improve so that you can improve so that you can improve".
• You don't have to leave the game open for it to continue. When you return, it will award you the gold you would have collected (and I've seen some people say you gain more gold this way). Be sure to create a new save file every now and then because the game data is stored in a cookie.
• The save file is 100% hackable if you really want to cheat, but that ruins the fun. It's just a silly single-player thing.
• I'm currently stuck on level 110 (haven't ascended yet). Definitely addicted. :)

Made my first ascension at level 140 and ended up with 14 hero souls. Coming up on my second ascension now. Going to save up about 65 hero souls and then max out Vaagur for my first ancient. -75% cooldown periods here I come!

Don't even need to pay, it runs for you in the background, even when comp in sleep mode. I wonder if the game compress your gold over time and just multiple it out when you open the game again.

so im stuck at level 55 its annoying me lol all my heroes are at level 100-300 and growing other than cid he is being left at 150 for now as its pointless upping it anymore as most i dont really click on it that much

I haven't gotten stuck yet, don't remember what level I'm on but I've been leveling the strongest hero to 5ish and raise some lower ones and it works just fine.

I've ascended a few times now, always either at level 140 or just after. I currently have 36 hero souls (and haven't spent any). Going to rinse and repeat a few more times before buying and upgrading some ancients.

Also, you can actually waste a surprising amount of time micro-managing this game, despite it being an "idle" game. I have to force myself to set a timer and only look at it every so often otherwise it sucks up all my attention, making it significantly harder to work on my own game. :)

I'm on level 79 currently, after ascending.

49 to 59 quickly after spending my idle money. Now just idling to level up and beat 60.

Level 116, working on first ascension :) Found 1 primal boss so far. SO I have 1 Hero Soul and can ascend for 3. My gilding has been somewhat successful as I got the Fire Mage the first time and Ivan second so my luck kinda went up ;)

So what's the deal with this ascension business? Should ascension happen every 10 levels after 100, or can you go forever then ascend and still get all those souls for every 10 levels above 100? Same with guilding, best to ascend at each 10 lvl interval or does it tally them up?

Do you still get the three bonuses below for each soul as of .11, or just damage boost now it's up to .13? A) 1% Skill cooldown reduction (75% maximum) B) 2% World gold bonus (50% maximum) C) 10% World DPS and click bonus (no maximum)

Each hero soul gives +10% hero and click DPS. It no longer affects cooldowns or gold. Hero souls can also be used to purchase/upgrade ancients (which have all sorts of effects).

I'm planning on following something like what tactilehero says on this thread. I've ascended at/around 140 a few times now and am currently just saving and sitting on HS, waiting to have enough to max out Vaagur with some to spare.

I wasted a lot of hero souls getting the two ancients i wanted, the Idle DPS/Gold ones. I have ascended on 140 too, i think i got around 18ish souls.

You're better off saving up hero souls early on for faster hero soul acquistion, only investing in ancients once you have a bit of a nest egg.

That said, grats on getting the idle DPS/gold ancients, I hear those are quite desirable. :)

As long as you put limited Souls in them to begin with (i think level 2 or 3 each) they're better than not having them, especially for my playstyle, since i never click. The only bad part was the souls i wasted actually trying to get them. Another kind of annoying thing is that you can use a Hero Soul to reroll and get the exact same 4 ancients.

No, you can buy and upgrade the ones you want. The part that's random is which ancients are available to buy. You have the option of rerolling (at the cost of hero souls) for the chance for different ones to appear.

So I'm on level 129 now, no ascension and have been having fairly bad luck with Primal bosses and only got like 1 hero soul and +3 for ascension so far. My gildings have gone far better though. Anywho, my idea is to wait to gain 7-10 hero souls but what if that takes me until like level 200 or so (at this rate lol)? Or put another way, ascend at 140 with a few hero souls or keep going and collect as many as possible?

Only 1 hero soul? If you level up the lower level heros you can gain a ton of potential souls when you decided to ascend. (2000 hero levels = 1 soul)

Yeah Sess you can probably get to 12k or 14k total hero level which is worth +6/7 hero souls on ascension. That's a good target to repeat for awhile. It'll get quicker with each run as the hero souls build up.

For myself, I maxed out Vaagur (some cooldowns as low as 2.5 minutes, woo!) and have 35 hero souls leftover. I'm currently trying to use the dark ritual combo to go deeper and collect more gilds and hero souls. It's been slow going unfortunately and I've been stuck at level 170 for awhile. I'm hoping for a bump in progress rate soon though as more heros break the 1k barrier and pickup the x10 dps bonuses (Ivan is my highest dps right now, for instance).

Yeah, you only get new gilds for reaching 100, 110, 120, etc. the first time, regardless of ascension.

Still making slow but steady progress on my deep dark ritual combo run...just broke level 200.

I've ascended 8 times, maxed out Vaagur, and have 29 hero souls. Thinking a couple more times and I might aim for that as well Ender.

I got an extra damage point for achieving 12 clicks in a second.

I'm still wondering how the heck to get 35 clicks per second, highest is 21.

i did 29 with normal play, using the doubling ability on the auto clicker one and a mouse-pad, then i lagged and it all sacked nicely to 39.

Finally got 25 clicks per second, figured out that if you tap the touch pad on its opposite sides at certain quick interval it registers many more than just two clicks.

35 seems unachievable without cheating. And I don't have a number pad on my keyboard.

Most people like to summon Vaagur first (he reduces the CD of your abilities). I think Ender has put some good links in higher up in the thread for strategy. I summoned the idle 2, Siyalatas and Libertas, though they're only level 2 or 3, and i have a max level Vaagur, which is nice for pushing higher, since you can use The Dark Ritual every hour or so to boost dmg. Like Ender said though, it's not necessarily worth spending all your hero souls if you don't have many, since they are a significant dmg boost for your run through after Ascension, especially if you have a more idle playstyle (like i do), you don't get as much out of Vaagur.

What does it mean ascend? I have 1 hero should not yet spent it because I don't want to take the dmg hit just yet gonna save up my hero souls till I thinks it's right to use it/the

Ascension is a skill of Amenhotep, using it brings you from where your currently back down to level one. You get to keep your ancients, but you lose your heroes, their levels, and your money. However you do gain a hero soul for every 2000 hero levels. In the top right of the hero list it will tell you how many Hero Souls you will gain on ascension.

I'd say ascension it typically done when you'd gain around 7 souls, any after that may be slow coming because of not being able to progress anymore levels.

I'm having a hard time getting past 140 for that gilded hero, just not enough income at 139. So right now I'm working at getting achievements completed so I'll get to keep that damage boost when I finally ascend. Want to let it run until I get the 1500K monsters (sitting on boss at 125 for money and <2s kill). I did get that 35 clicks per second with energized click storm and using the touch pad of the laptop, glad that's over.

I think you also keep your heroe's gildings.

Hero Souls come easier once you get to higher levels - around level 200 you start getting like 7 per primal boss kill.

Trio if you use energier then clickstorm wouldn't that improve Your click to 20 per second? then your clicks on top of that might take it upto 35? i have 20 atm but im going too attempt it once i have energier should have it later when i get back home

I got to level 2300ish. All ancients maxed and all that don't have a max level to like 10000. All heros to around 5000. Like 80% achievements. More hero souls than i'll ever be able to spend. Lameeee

If you think of it, Alan is a chock. He has tried to prevent the forward progress of this game by wasting Ender's time on preventing/catching cheaters. And probably still is somehow.

Speaking of the main topic, I quit Clicker Heroes at my 2nd ascension somewhere around the level 140 range. The chat is more fun than anything else but it's insane. Heck, people would take about S&M and polygamous marriages (I once said that at least this game teaches you about polygamous marriages lol) etc. and yet they would still find me weird.

I guess I'm just weird wherever I go. So ya...

That's why you can never truly leave us here. We're the only ones who accept you, weirdness and all.

I finally managed to quit this game. I was getting up to around level 600-700 on my deep runs. Spent maybe a few thousand hero souls on ancients and regilds. I sort of just gradually lost interest. \o/

It's okay for a "reputable" guy to cheat, but when a "lesser" guy does, hell has taken back over.

Clicker Heroes is an easy game to cheat in. It's pretty obvious in any game with open save files. People have been using hacked or already completed game saves for what seems like eons now. It's child's play in comparison to most things you can do in hacking/cheating etc.

I think it has less to do with cheating than either of you thinking that it is more fun to find out how to cheat than play the game. You're now programmers. You're not the people playing the game. You wanted to open Pandora's Box if you will and see what's inside and now because of that you can't go back to what you were before.

If I'd consider anything in Clicker Heroes cheating, it's figuring out what any of the game's formulas even mean. They're all nonsense built on nonsense.

And one last thing, everyone is a hypocrite. You, me, everyone. Finding genuine people in the world died the second humans figured out how to deceive and kill each other.

Alan I think you took the cheating comment too much to heart there. My comment at least wasn't critising you cheating, but more stating it would ruin any enjoyment i could get from the game.
